Dear CISD Families, The Coppell ISD Board of Trustees approved new elementary and middle school attendance boundaries for the district during its meeting Feb. 25, 2019. These new boundaries, which are in effect for the 2019-2020 school year, were adopted in preparation for the opening of CISD’s 11th elementary school, Canyon Ranch Elementary, in Irving (Valley Ranch) in August 2019, as well to optimize student capacity at facilities while accommodating student growth in the southern portion of our district. By Friday, March 8, each CISD elementary school student, as well as each CISD 6th and 7th grade student, will be coming home with a brochure detailing our Boundary Realignment process. It also outlines the CISD transfer procedures for our current 4th and 7th grade students, plus their siblings who qualify for “grandfathering,” as well as for other students wishing to transfer schools. Click here to view the digital copy of this brochure. Details on the Boundary Realignment process, including updated attendance zone maps, transfer information and more, also can be found at www.coppellisd.com/realignment. As a reminder, anyone who wishes to be “grandfathered” MUST complete a transfer form by March 29, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. Details on the transfer process can be found at www.coppellisd.com/transfer. As my letter in this brochure states, new environments create new opportunities for learning, and we are excited about the learning experiences created everyday by educators on all of our campuses. No matter what campus your child will attend in the fall, we are confident he or she will be receiving a quality education with educators and administrators who care deeply about your child’s success and building relationships with you all. While we will soon have 18 different schools that make up our CISD community – let us all remember and know that together, we are ONE Coppell ISD dedicated to a common mission and committed to providing a wonderful educational experience for each child. Sincerely, Brad Hunt Superintendent
