Kit Pehl Selected as Coppell ISD Athletic Director

Coppell ISD is pleased to announce the CISD Board of Trustees approved Kit Pehl as the district’s new athletic director during their meeting March 25. Kit has served as the CISD Assistant Director of Athletics since 2016 and was the Coppell High School Head Basketball Coach from 2012 to 2018. His many CISD accolades include being named the 2016 District 7-6A Coach of the Year, and he is a 2015 CISD GEM (Great Educators who Matter) recipient. Prior to coming to CHS, he was the Head Basketball Coach at Central High School in Keller ISD, where he was the 2012, District 7-5A Coach of the Year and led the team to its first ever District Championship in 2012. Kit received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Baylor University and has extensive experience in coaching and teaching at the secondary level in North Texas. “Coach Pehl is committed to ensuring our CISD student-athletes achieve success in the classroom and in their sports, while also developing character and being good citizens,” said CISD Superintendent Brad Hunt. “He has a stellar reputation for supporting our players and teams, our coaches, our families and our community.” “I have known Coach Pehl since we worked together at CMS West,” he added. “His varied experiences at both middle school and high school will serve him well in his new role." Kit said, “I am grateful for this opportunity to lead the athletics efforts for this district that I am proud to call home. Our coaches are committed to doing what’s best for our kids, and I look forward to continuing to work with these inspiring individuals who help children be the best they can be in sports, academics and in life.” Kit and his wife Lisa live in Coppell and have two children who attend CISD schools.
